About us
From the Azores to Toronto
Ontario Aluminum & Glass was founded by the Silva family after Antonio Marcelino Da Silva immigrated to Canada from the Azores in 1970. By 1976, through hands-on work and steady growth, the company was established in Toronto, initially focused on aluminum siding and eavestroughs before expanding into windows and doors.
As demand grew, so did the scope of the business. In the early 1990s, Ontario Aluminum & Glass began fabricating vinyl windows, allowing for greater control over quality, customization, and performance. This marked a significant step toward a more integrated production model — one grounded in accountability and consistency.
In 2005, that commitment was taken further with the launch of a dedicated vinyl extrusion operation, bringing the entire manufacturing process in-house. From raw vinyl material through extrusion, fabrication, glazing, and final assembly, this integration strengthened quality control and ensured tighter oversight at every stage of production.
Today, Ontario Aluminum & Glass operates as a multi-generation, family-run organization serving residential and commercial clients across the GTA. While the scale of the operation has grown and technology has advanced, the principles that guided the company from the beginning remain unchanged: do the work properly, stand behind it, and build relationships that last.

Our Toronto facility houses both our production operations and showroom, allowing us to support projects from initial planning through manufacturing, fabrication, and coordination.
By keeping production in-house, we’re able to maintain quality control, respond efficiently to project requirements, and offer flexible options including pickup, delivery, or full professional installation. This integrated approach allows us to serve a wide range of residential and commercial applications with consistency and reliability.
Supporting our Toronto operations is our sister company, Ontario Vinyl Extrusions, a dedicated extrusion facility responsible for producing all of the vinyl profiles used in our window systems.
Ontario Vinyl Extrusions operates exclusively to supply Ontario Aluminum & Glass and is not open to the public. From raw vinyl powder, profiles are extruded, reinforced, and finished to specification before being cut and welded to size for each custom order. Completed frames are then transferred to our OAG facility for glazing and final assembly.
This fully integrated manufacturing process allows us to maintain consistent material quality, tighter tolerances, and greater control throughout production — from raw material to finished window.
