Slab

A slab is the door itself and is pre-bored for a lockset unless requested otherwise. Slabs do not come with attached hinges.

4. Measure for your new entry system.

We feel that accurate measurement is integral to seamless installations and flawlessly operating new entry systems. If measuring and installing your new door is not your idea of a do it yourself project please feel free to contact us and we will gladly take care of these tasks for you. If you choose to have Ontario Aluminum & Glass supply your doors but have arranged to have the installation carried out another professional we suggest that you have your measurements verified by that individual prior to placing your order with us.

Entry Doors

  • Slab: measure the height and width of the existing door
  • Pre-hung: measure your rough opening vertically and horizontally in two places. Record the smaller of the two sizes. The rough opening size should be a minimum of 1’ larger horizontally and vertically than the outside frame size of the door you will order

Patio Doors

  • Patio Door Standard Series: (6ft) 72" x 79 1/2", (5ft) 60" x 79 1/2"
  • If your patio door requirements cannot be accommodated by a standard size door, you will need to measure your rough opening by removing the casing from the interior of the existing door opening to reveal the studs
  • Measure horizontally and vertically in two places from the inside surfaces of the studs
  • Record the smaller of the two sizes
